History
The current firm is an outgrowth of the private consulting practice of Robert P. Schoenijahn established in 1916. Hugh Mahaffy, P.E. joined the Schoenijahn Company in 1946 and assumed leadership in 1962. The firm's name was changed to Anderson & Mahaffy, Inc. in 1970. In 1989, Edward Fayda, P.E. and Scott D. Parlow, P.E. joined Mr. Mahaffy and the name was changed to its current Mahaffy & Associates, Inc. Mr. Mahaffy currently serves as President of M & A and remains active in the day-to-day operations.
M&A employs the principal philosophy of providing a professional level of service which meets or exceeds the needs of its clients, the public and peers alike.

With a diverse background in the institutional, educational, and HealthCare fields Mahaffy & Associates applies state-of-the-art technology, expert design and unmatched experience to insure each facility is tailored to the requirements of every client.To help achieve this, M&A monitors all phases of a project from design through construction. The team which evaluates, designs and details a building system also monitors its progress. In this way, focus remains constant and assures the highest quality project within budget and on time.

Past and present clients include a variety of architectural firms as well as owners of educational, medical, correctional, governmental and industrial facilities. Key personnel have experience in a wide array of project types and are computer skilled utilizing the latest releases of AutoCAD. In addition, all principals of the firm are registered engineers and hold degrees in their respective disciplines. Combining modern technology and past experience along with a team design approach insures clients a facility for today as well as tomorrow.
